As per the trusted sources of information, some of the Clothing brands started offering clothes on rent without a monthly subscription in order to gain more customers.Rebecca Minkoff, a fashion designer is among the first few brands to offer a “borrow” option on her website, which is supported by CaaStle, a rental technology platform. The customers are allowed to wear the piece of Clothing as many times as it is possible, and also have an option to buy the items at an adjusted price.
The subscriptions have a set fee on per month basis for some items offered by the retailer. Some brands have subscription models just for the clothes, like the designers and companies like Stitch Fix and Rent the Runway, which offers clothes from large number of designers.
Minkoff stated in a recent interview that it is unsustainable for the customers to take different subscription services.Moreover, the retailers, Vince is looking forward to introduce the “borrow” option for women and men’s Clothing items on 13th July. Whereas, the designer Rebecca Taylor is likely to launch the service later in the summer for only women’s apparel even though both of them already have the subscription plans.
CEO and founder of CaaStle, Christine Hunsicker stated that they are looking forward to the having the “borrow” option to anyone that is selling clothes online. She further added that is a way to increase their customer reach. She further expressed her expectations from the large brands to provide subscriptions along with the one-time rentals.
