Illinois Health Authorities 1,585 Covid 19 Cases

Illinois health authorities reported 1,585 new confirmed and probable cases of Covid 19 and 15 related deaths Monday.There have been 1,701,649 total cases, including 25,834 deaths in the state since the pandemic began.

The seven-day statewide test positivity rate from Oct. 25-31 is 2.3%. Within the past 24 hours, laboratories have reported testing 59,482 specimens for a total of 35,600,267 since the pandemic began. As of Sunday night, Illinois health authorities reported 1,247 patients in the hospital with Covid 19. Of those, 298 patients were in the ICU and 143 patients with Covid 19 were on ventilators.

Illinois Health Authorities 1,585 Covid 19 CasesA total of 15,725,525 vaccine doses have been administered in Illinois as of Monday, and 57.23% of the state’s population is fully vaccinated. The seven-day rolling average of vaccines administered daily is 60,523. Illinois Gov. JB Pritzker is ready to sign a new amendment that would allow employers to fire workers for refusing Covid 19 protocols including mandatory vaccinations.

The Health Care Right of Conscience Act amendment bans employees from using their moral beliefs as a reason to refuse to comply with a workplace’s Covid 19 mandates, which could include mandatory vaccinations. The Illinois Senate voted 31-24 to approve the proposal late Thursday night. This measure passed out of the House on a 64-52-2 vote Wednesday.
